Macro Light Box Fun.

So the other day I made myself a macro light box after finding a tutorial on the Strobist Blog so I whipped this up in about 20 minutes and had a bit of a mess around. The only problem was that I had no remote flash so I had to shoot with my speedlight attached to my camera's hotshoe shooting straight down into the box rather than from the side.

Still, I think it all came out rather nice.

Roo Shooting, Take 2

In May of this year I dissapeared for about 3 weeks and headed East to Kalgoorlie, I spent a few days getting outta control drunk in town with my brother then I headed another 400kms east with a couple of total strangers with guns to work as an offsider to a roo shooter.

Why? Morbid curiosity perhaps. To say that I had done it, and to test my theory that if your going to eat meat, then at some point you must find out exactly where it comes from.

..and now I know.

What you have below is just a handfull of the pictures I took on my trip. When I originally went through all these photo's these where overlooked, so what you have is a bunch of ill exposed & grainy photographs taken with my little Powershot s50. Great examples of technical photography they are not, but I think they are interesting, if nothing else.

*Warning* Some of this pictures are quite graphic. vegETARIans beware.

Kalamunda Rugby Union

I really love watching rugby, its a great sport and with Rob back from Kal for a few weeks he's been playing for the seniors a bit. Here are a few photo's from the last couple of weeks featuring Kalamunda Rugby Club's 1st Grade team.

Took my camera down to the 208 house show which doubled as the Jaws CD launch, and it was totally rocking. Battletruck, Exortion & of course Jaws all played awesome sets in Rohans front room and an ex-metallica roadie was on hand to record the night so the sound was crisp and LOUD, it made me very happy and a little dizzy as I was stuck next to the speaker all night.

Here is a quick sample of the photo's, i've got a whole bunch more to come from this show, as well as some from my day out at my brothers rugby, big sweaty men getting all touchy feely. Love it.

So after far to many months, a major ebay scam and a whole lot of money wasted that could have been put towards it, I finally got my camera. Canon 30D, 17-85mm lense and a speedlight flash that confuses the hell out of me.

Here's a few pictures I took of my brothers the afternoon I got my camera.
